Explores qualities that make software susceptible to attacks. Techniques for writing secure applications are covered in detail.
Prerequisite(s)
Any one of these:
- CSCI 2150 and CSCI 2910, each with a C- or better
- CSCI 2150 and CSCI 2210, each with a C- or better
Course Outcomes
- Evaluate the properties of software to assess security.
- Design effective countermeasures in software to minimize the potential for exploitation.
- Test software to evaluate its security and determine vulnerabilities.
- Employ appropriate tools to design and test secure software. ( Student Outcome CY1 )
